Wu feng mountain is one of the holy mountains in the heart of Tibetans. According to the legendary, there are five phoenixes in the mountain, being the symbol of luck and peace. The mountain top is 3696m above the sea level, there are tall and upright spruces, fir trees and Yunnan pines on the mountain, and also romantic azalea and tuft shrub.
The vegetation is well cared by the local peopel, and the ecological enviroment is good.
On May 5th of the lunar calendar every year, the Tibetans living in the plateau will send the best rider to participate in the 3 days horse racing fair.
The tradition has it that the good youth Nazhu Dudan was awarded with the first place in the Lhasa horse racing fair and has impressed the King Tibetan, who has exempted the heavy grain taxes of Jiantang.
To commemorate his merit, the horse racing fair of Wufeng Mountain on May 5 has lasted till today, and there are more and more rich and colorful activity items.
