It is a day tour to the Dianchi region of western Kunming. Visit the is famous 500 Arhat sculptures in Bamboo Temple. Take the chairlift up to Dragon Gate of Western Hills to make the bird view of Kunming city and Dianchi lake. Then make a nice walk on the Haigeng Dam to have a view of Dianchi lake under the background of Western Hills.
09:00 am the guide pick up you at lobby of your OWN hotel in Kunming downtown, then transfer to star your trip from Bamboo Temple (Chinese name is Qiongzhu Temple which is located in the northwest of Kunming. The temple and the bamboo forest that surround it have a wonderful and mysterious legend about their origins. The highlights in this temple are the 500 Arhat sculptures which are well-known for their vivid expressions and artistic characteristics. They are regarded as the gem of Oriental sculptures. )
Continue to visit the Western Hills (the western hills is located in the west shore of the Daichi Lake. It consists of Huating, Taihua, Taiping, Luohan and Guabang Peaks which stretches over 40 km from north to south. Because of the undulating skyline of these mountains resembles a sleeping Buddha or a sleeping Beauty with long hair drifting causally. It is praised as Sleeping Buddha mountain or Sleeping Beauty mountain as well )Take a chairlift up to visit the Dragon Gate (Dragon Gate is the steepest spot in the Western Hills and well worth climbing up the winding old stone stairs because the view is spectacular),
Then transfer to the bank of Dianchi lake, take a nice walk at Haigeng Dam to make the view of Dianchi lake and the Western Hill as the background. In winter, Haigeng Dam is the one of the best palace to make a close view and feed the red-beaked gulls migrates from Siberia.
After tour , transfer back and drop off at your own booking hotel in Kunming downtown.
