8 Days Travel along Burma Road from Kunming to Ruili

The Burma Road was a road linking Burma with the southwest of China. Its terminals were Kunming, Yunnan, and Lashio, Burma. It was built while Burma was a British colony in order to convey supplies to China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Preventing the flow of supplies on the road helped motivate the occupation of Burma by the Empire of Japan in 1942. Use of the road was restored to the Allies in 1945 after the completion of the Ledo Road. Some parts of the old road are still visible today.
This package tour will take you travel Yunnan along the Burma Road by Kunming, Dali,Tengchong and Ruili. You will enjoy the amazing landscape and know about the difference culture of minority groups in Yunnan.

Day 1 Kunming -Arrival (-/-/-)

Arrive at Kunming airport, our guide will pick up you at exit of the arrival Hall, then transfer to your hotel for check in.
Rest time of the day at your leisure or have a good rest after long flying.

Day 2 Kunming (B/L/-)

In the morning, transfer 2hrs to discover Stone Forest about 90km away from Kunming.The difference types of limestone of here is isolated, exquisite and beautiful, showing its unique charm. It became the member in the list of World Nature Heritage in June , 2007.)
Afterward, drive back to Kunming city, visit the Western Hills (it is located in the west shore of the Daichi Lake. It stretches over 40 km from north to south. )  Take a chairlift up to visit the Dragon Gate (Dragon Gate is the steepest spot in the Western Hills and well worth climbing up the winding old stone stairs because the view is spectacular), Later, make a leisure stroll around Kunming center Nanping Shopping street.

Day 3 Kunming -Dali(B/L/-)

This morning , take a high speed train (2hrs ) to Dali. 
Upon arrival , visit Xizhou Town It’s known as a historical town, a classic Bai ethnic town. Followed by a walking around in the old street of Xizhou and to witness the Bai traditional architectures. Then enjoy the"Three-Course Tea Ceremony " which is the traditional treating for Bai people to their honored guests.
Afterward , take a cruise tour in Erhai Lake by the small boat Erhai means, "sea shaped like an ear", in Chinese. Implying that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea, hence it was so named. Stroll around in  the Dali Old Town. It was set up in 1382 A.D  as the capital of the Dali kingdom. There are well-preserved traditional houses of the Bai Ethnic Group people. Take a stop of Catholic Church of Dali or drink a cup of coffee at one restaurant of "Foreigners Street" also is a nice choose.

Day 4 Dali - Weishan-Dali (B/L/-)

After the breakfast ,  transfer 1.5-2hrs to Weibao Mountain  The mountain looks like a crouching lion who turns its head back and looks at the county seat and the belt-like Guajiang River in the mist. The giant dam of Huanglizui Reservoir at the foot of the mountain is like the lion's dressing table, and the placid water the mirror. Weibao Mountain was the place where Xinuluo, the head of Mengshe Zhao during the early Nanzhao period, rose to power, and it was also an important Daoist mountain in Yunnan.). Continue move to have a look of Weishan Old Town
Then you will pay a nice stop at Donglianhua Muslim Village Many Muslims made their money in the caravan-trade and often carry the surname Ma. The village, built around one of the largest mosques in Yunnan, has many impressive court-yard houses, decorated with images and mementos from far-away lands. After the tour, drive back to hotel in Dali.

Day 5 Dai- Tengchong (B/L/-)

This morning, transfer to Tengchong (340km 4.5-5.5hrs ) is located in the western edge of Yunnan province, 760km west of the provincial capital-Kunming. This city borders with Myanmar in the northwest for 151km. It is the well known hometown of oversea Chinese and the important trade center of Jade products as well as the provincial historical and cultural city. The city abound of hot springs and volcanoes.
After arrival , you will discover the Heshun Old Town is situated in 3km southwest of Tengchong city. Heshun in Chinese means harmony and peace. This charming old town is surrounded by a river and built along the slope of a hill with an area of 3km horizontally. It got prosperous from international trade business as it was the must-go-through site on the Silk Road

Day 6 Tengchong (B/L/-)

In the morning ,visit the Rehai Hot Spring Park It is  a park of groups of hot springs. The main one is named Daguanguo (Big Boiling Bowl ). The water of it can reaches a temperature of 97 centigrade degree. Locals offer traveler eggs or peanuts cooked in the spring’s heat. The water of the hot spring contains rich and variety of minerals and the sulphur in it benefits people’s skin and body very much. Nowadays, it has changed into the must to visit palace of Tengchong.  
Later move to visit Volcanoes Geology Park Tengchong is a well known young volcanic and geothermal area in China. There is an old saying that "Nine out of ten mountains have no head." to describe the volcanoes there. And Tengchong Beihai Wetland (  This reserve is formed by 2 natural lakes Qiaghai and Beihai with an area of 16.3 square kilometer. The whole region is surrounded by mountains, and categorized into the eco system of plateau volcanic barrier lake. Come to the wetland, visitors will for sure experience the gorgeousness and mystical essence of the nature.
After the tour , transfer back to your hotel.

Day 7 Tengchong - Ruili (B/L/D)

Today you will departure to Ruili. On the way, visit the Dai ethnic Village and Xuanfu Former Chieftain Office at Nandian. t is located at Zhedao Street of Zhedao town in Lianghe County, begun in the first year of emperor Xianfeng of Qing Dynasty in 1851. After continuous expansion in three generations of Chieftains, it was completed in the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935). After the tour, continue to the transfer to Ruili (3hrs).
Check in your hotel after arrival.
Lunch en route and dinner at local Chinese restaurant.

Day 8 Ruili-Mangshui Departure (B/-/-)

After breakfast, transfer to the Manshui airport  (1.5hrs ) for the departure flight to next destenation.
